My insights about President Elpidio Quirino

President Elpidio Quirino Elpidio Quirino was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. He worked as a teacher and clerk before earning his law degree from UP in 1915. He entered politics in 1919, serving as a Representative, Senator, and Secretary of Finance, gaining crucial administrative experience. He became Vice President under Manuel Roxas, helping lead early post-war recovery efforts. Presidency & Achievements: Quirino assumed the presidency in 1948 after Roxas's death. His administration focused intensely on national reconstruction following WWII devastation. Key achievements include establishing the Central Bank of the Philippines and launching significant industrialization projects to stabilize the economy. National Children's Month The 2025 National Children's Month theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” is super important. It directly tackles the massive threat of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), which are huge problems in the digital world. It's a call to action to completely stop these abuses and fiercely protect kids' safety and rights. The government does have strong laws like the Anti-Child Pornography Act and specialized units in the police and DSWD. This shows they are serious about their role as the primary protector of children. However, the biggest issue is implementation. Enforcing these laws against online abuse is tough because the internet is global and the material spreads so fast. We need the government to invest way more in digital forensics, training for law enforcement, and providing better, faster support for survivors. Justice needs to...
